PARENTING & CHILD ADOPTION

Children’s issues
We can assist with custody arrangements following a separation between parents. We use the “best interests of the child” framework and a child-centred approach to custody disputes. Accordingly where possible we will work with our clients to design their own tailor-made parenting agreements for their children rather than going to the Court. However, a small percentage of parties ultimately require a Court decision to determine the best arrangements for their children and we can help you through this.

Parenting agreements
Catherine Henry Partners has experience in negotiating and enforcing parenting arrangements for heterosexual and same sex couples as well as blended families.

When parents separate their role as parents continues long after their relationship as partners has ended. We help clients negotiate mutually satisfactory arrangements with their children’s best interests the paramount consideration.

Adoption

Catherine Henry Partners can assist with the legal aspects of the adoption process where the legal rights and responsibilities of parenting are transferred from the child's birth parents to adoptive parents.

We can advise and assist heterosexual and same-sex couples with Australian and overseas agency adoptions. We also assist with private adoptions where clients want to formalise relationships with step children or other children related to them.
